Microsoft Online Services read-only economy version of SharePoint and Exchange
The following tutorial will demonstrate how to add and manage Deskless Workers subscriptions, which are available with SharePoint Online and/or Exchange Online subscriptions.
It is important to keep in mind that while Microsoft Online Services Deskless Workers are able to send and receive e-mail for Exchange Server subscriptions, they are not able to make edits to documents or information located on the SharePoint portal—that location is read-only for Deskless Workers.
From the Admin Center under the Users tab, click the arrow next to "Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite" (or Exchange/SharePoint Deskless Worker).
Under Actions click Add new user
*Alternatively, you can select Import from a File for multiple users and import as a CSV.
A window will pop up allowing you to add the user. Fill out this General Properties and Settings information, the under services, ensure that the BPOS Standard Suite is not checked.
Check the box next to the Deskless Worker Suite and arrow down to verify an appropriate mailbox size. Click Create.
After creating the new user on SharePoint, click the Service Settings tab and then click SharePoint Online.
Under Site Collections, select Site Settings. A SharePoint Deskless Worker Portal will open.
From the SharePoint Deskless Worker Portal under Users and Permissions, select People and groups.
Under People and Groups, select New then Add Users.
A new dialogue window will open.
Enter the user or group information and under the Give Permission section, select Give user permission directly and be sure to specify Read-Can view only.
